Dispatch & Fleet Transportation Manager

We are looking for a self starter with leadership qualities. A proven Dispatch & Fleet Transportation Manager to supervise our drivers and coordinate our equipment assets. Principal Accountabilities

  • Take control and lead by example
  • Ensure equipment is constantly moving
  • Monitor and ensure fleet operations are compliant with regulations and laws
  • Coordinate orders with company drivers
  • Provide customers with professional, timely and proactive support
  • Monitor driver performance, safety, reliability and professionalism
  • Ensure optimal equipment utilization
  • Assist in recruiting quality drivers
  • Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and document important information
  • Respond to any issues and follow-up by coordinating with the appropriate departments or field units
  • Supervise the route and status of drivers to prioritize their daily schedule
  • Maintain and update call logs, call records and other important documentation
  • Act as a liaison between the company drivers, Warehouse and Logistics teams

Required Education and Experience

  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Minimum 5 years of driver dispatch and/or fleet management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel – other logistics software an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well organized and strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to changing priorities
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
  • Team player with strong commitment to the customer
  • Strong knowledge of emergency processes and procedures
  • Strong organizational, time management and planning skills
  • Self-motivated individual
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
