Requirements
Although required in extremely small quantities, crop yields can be severely affected when micronutrient deficiencies occur. For example, copper is often deficient across the prairies yet Copper plays a major role in flower fertility, so yields may quickly decline if a deficiency occurs.

Sulfur
In Western Canada, canola demands more sulfur than any other major crop as it is essential for oil synthesis. Growers want to be certain there are 15 to 20 lbs of sulfur available during the growing season. Continuous application of elemental sulfur is an excellent way to ensure this.
