Agronomy Manager

What is your job title?

I am the Agronomy Manager for AgraCity

What do you do with AgraCity?

I act as a technical resource for our sales staff and customers. I spend most of my days answering questions on how to use our products effectively to get the best performance out of them, and helping support our sales staff on our large portfolio of products. I also spend time researching new technologies that emerge to see what would be a good fit to help our customers grow the best crops.

Where do you live?

I live in Saskatoon, SK

What is the territory that you cover?

I cover all of Canada, though the customers I mainly work with are in SK and MB

What do you like about working with AgraCity?

I enjoy the challenge of working with our extensive product portfolio- It definitely keeps me busy staying up to speed on all our products! However, the size of the portfolio makes it easy to find a product with a great fit for every farm.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Saskatoon, SK.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing farmers in Western Canada today?

Farmers’ access to technology is being restricted by a very difficult registration environment all around the world- both by preventing the release of new technologies and by losing options that are proven safe. This makes it very difficult to do what is right for their farm and to provide an abundant and safe food supply to society.

What hobbies do you have when you are not working?

I am an avid runner and compete in 100-mile ultramarathons as well as playing hockey and soccer. I love travelling around the world with my wife Jill, and hiking with our golden doodle Chester.

What else would you like AgraCity customers to know about you?

I have spent most of my career in Research and Development with Syngenta and Bayer CropScience across several cities and soil zones, getting a hands-on feel for how crop protection products perform in Western Canada before I came to AgraCity.
