Re- cropping options

Grazing and Harvest

  • Do not permit lactating dairy animals to graze fields within 7 days after application
  • Do not harvest forage or cut hay within 30 days after application
  • Withdraw meat animals from treated fields at least 3 days prior to slaughter

Storage

  • Product can be frozen. If frozen, allow to thaw completely and agitate prior to use.

Application Info

When to Apply

  • Field corn: Before corn is 15cm tall and/or before the 6 leaf stage
  • Spring cereals: 4 leaf to early flag leaf
  • Winter wheat and fall rye: Treat in the spring from full tillering to early flag leaf. Do not apply in fall.

Water Volume

  • Ground: 5-20 US gallons/acre (20 – 80 L/acre)

Required Surfactant

  • None required

Rainfast period

  • 1 hour

Mixing Instructions

  1. Fill the spray tank 1/2 full of clean water, begin agitation and continue throughout mixing and application process.
  2. If required, add the correct amount of any dry formulation products
  3. If required, add correct amount of grassy weed tank mix partner.
  4. Add the required amount of MPower 2,4-D 700 Ester.
  5. Add any required surfactant
  6. Complete filling of sprayer and apply
  7. If application is stopped prior to completion, re-suspend spray solution by full agitation prior to commencing spraying again.

Understanding Performance

  • Good coverage is essential. Use higher water volumes in heavy canopy or weed pressure. High water rates reduce the risk of crop injury
  • Optimum control occurs when applied between 15oC and 27oC in warm, moist growing conditions.
  • Typical symptoms of dying weeds will be visible within several days after application depending on growing conditions. Control of weeds may take up to 2-3 weeks.
  • Optimum weed control will occur when applied at the 2-4 leaf stage of the weeds.
  • Weeds hardened off by cold weather or drought stress may not be adequately controlled or suppressed and regrowth may occur.
  • Application to crops that are stressed by severe weather conditions, frost, low fertility, water-logged soil (soil at or near field capacity), disease or insect damage may result in crop injury. Drought, disease or insect damage following application may also result in crop injury.
  • Weed control may be reduced during stress conditions, e.g. drought, heat or cold stress, if weeds have initiated flowering, or if heavy infestations exist.
